Things are weird and so on Hellobear. Things are weird. Life is interesting. Circles are... going in circles. Sometimes I miss writing as it seems to help me focus and clarify the more confusing particulars of life, of me; but mostly of the interaction between me and confusing people. Maybe I should make a t-shirt printed with something like "Be direct. I'm not going to hit you or cry and run to mommy." Maybe the circles are densing and it's time to burst the bubble and see what's on offer beyond the old patterns of trial and error. The air smelled of sap the wooded ridges that were dashing by suddenly in one breath
(you should stand in a meadow in spring to understand)
turned into the backs of tame oxen grazing on the plains the hair on their spines bristling in the chill twilight air of spring unfurling in caterpillar style
i saw it all through the window of the car
with the second breath i heard the rush and knew that our roots were one and the same
another breath and there was no car no the sap pressed on and persuaded the dam it broke and it was glad as it sighed to set me awash in the crested waves overwhelmed in a sea dripping over the fingers of the Universe and i could taste that our salt was one and the same
I was immense reflecting the Sun.

On Passing
Wouldn't it be heavenly if you could always have only light matters to talk about? Today, however, is a sad occasion. I attended the funeral of a young girl. She was 18 and she died of leukemia, after years of brave struggle. My relation to her was professional - I was her teacher. Even so, I only saw her two or three times. When she came to consult with me on the matter of her semestral exam, and when she came to take the exam. She was a remarkable student with all straight As. Actually, an unbelievable student, because she wasn't allowed to study hard on doctors' orders (even mental strain was too hard on her frail condition), yet she had such interest and will. I won't pretend I knew her, it would be silly, and unfair to her close ones. But still, I took an instant liking to her the moment I met her. Perhaps it was based on sympathy, on knowing her illness. I'll never be quite sure what triggered the affection. However, she left the impression of a gentle young person, cheerful, strong, quick-witted and respectful. She was quick to laugh and quick to reply and had a gorgeous, open smile that would not leave her face, even when she was unsure of her answer. May your strength be an inspiration to all who knew you and to those who wish they had known you better. Rest in peace, Antonija. Guess what I Am A: Neutral Good Human Druid/Ranger (2nd/1st Level) Ability Scores:Strength-12 Dexterity-12 Constitution-13 Intelligence-15 Wisdom-13 Charisma-13 Alignment:Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable. Race:Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like. Primary Class:Druids gain power not by ruling nature but by being at one with it. They hate the unnatural, including aberrations or undead, and destroy them where possible. Druids receive divine spells from nature, not the gods, and can gain an array of powers as they gain experience, including the ability to take the shapes of animals. The weapons and armor of a druid are restricted by their traditional oaths, not simply training. A druid's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that they can cast. Secondary Class:Rangers are skilled stalkers and hunters who make their home in the woods. Their martial skill is nearly the equal of the fighter, but they lack the latter's dedication to the craft of fighting. Instead, the ranger focuses his skills and training on a specific enemy a type of creature he bears a vengeful grudge against and hunts above all others. Rangers often accept the role of protector, aiding those who live in or travel through the woods. His skills allow him to move quietly and stick to the shadows, especially in natural settings, and he also has special knowledge of certain types of creatures. Finally, an experienced ranger has such a tie to nature that he can actually draw on natural power to cast divine spells, much as a druid does, and like a druid he is often accompanied by animal companions. A ranger's Wisdom score should be high, as this determines the maximum spell level that he can cast. It Is A Mystery... Or?
I've discovered on the label of a Swedish cosmetic product, that the instructions in English, French, Spanish, Italian and German say the product should be applied once a day, while the instructions in other (Eastern) European languages claim it should be applied twice a day. Road dust sparklies
Is there anything better than traveling with your best friend and encountering adventures untold? And how it all began! Some friends say I lead a charmed life and sometimes, I really pause to think they are absolutely right. For every time some mission of mine starts in a clumsy, bizarre or just wrong way, it tends to build up like a storm of unpredictable hilarious, quite often embarrassing, events leading to the big fire-works finale. When the whirlwind sweeps over me and the dust settles, I'm left dazed and intoxicated with what life brings to me. Covered in road dust sparklies. I left on 11 July, Wednesday, on my 9-hour bus trip to Novi Sad (Serbia). The plan was to pick up Tash and her friend, Tanja, the next day. Provided the bus stopped in their town. Naturally, this bit of information was impossible to find on any of the bus stations or bus companies sites. Trying to phone the information service of the main bus station in the state capital also proved fruitless. The only thing left was to board the bus on Thursday, 6 AM, and hope it stops there. So it did! Four hours after I got on, I saw the anxious faces of the girls, who were waiting to climb aboard! The remaining 4 hours went smoothly and in the afternoon we were on the bus station of our southern neighbour, ex sister nation, ex aggressor. Confusion and mixed emotions, anyone? Once there, we found the owner of the flat we rented over the Internet already waiting for us with his car. He gave us a lift to the flat, took all the money up front and pretty much left us clueless after a very brief tour. After his departure, we began to discover all the things that were wrong with the place: 1) The handle of the toilet tank was in a bad condition and every time one of us flushed the toilet, we had to push the handle back up to stop the leak. A bonus was that the other two girls were two short so I had to do it. Every time any one used the toilet. 2) The sink in the bathroom was designed for dwarfs, judging by its width. Complimenting this, a ludicrously long tap was installed which reached the edge of the sink. Try washing up like that, it's fun! 3) One third of the shower was taken up by the boiler. 4) There was an inexplicable step in the bathroom. 5) The living room window couldn't be closed because of the TV antenna which was secured to it. Luckily, we didn't have any rain. 6) To top it off - the front door lock was in a bad shape and on the second day of our stay we barely managed to unlock the door. All in all, and counting some minor deficiencies, such as the mouldy walls and the persistent faint odor of putrefaction, we were satisfied with our sleeping arrangements. 10 EURO a piece per night, it's a bargain! The festival in itself, disregarding the failure that is the organization, was grand. All the performances we saw were on the level, with a major pleasant surprise from Basement Jaxx. Besides a wonderful, energetic and convincing live performance, they did a cover of some traditional Serbian song and they played it on many instruments, including trumpets! Kudos! The others we saw were: Beastie Boys, Prodigy, Lauryn Hill, Atheist Rap, Hladno Pivo, Overflow and others. The big names were on the Main Stage, while the others had their designated smaller stages. There was also a variety of DJ stages with 80s, reggae, electro, etc. music. Enough to amuse us until 4, 5 AM every day. Of the city, we saw virtually none. Merely the strict centre, which is a nice, touristy promenade swamped by coffee shops and pizzerias. Does it really matter, though? ;) Current Mood: enthralledCurrent Music: Simple Minds - Belfast child | | Tuesday, July 10th, 2007 | | 11:00 pm |
Eventness! I don't suppose there's a better (even though it's made up) word to describe this period of my life. What's been happening recently? A visit and a big concert, combined. Ramen-san came to see me and sadly, departed on the second day of our hanging out. We should do that again! At the same time, my choir had a pretty important gig at the national capital, in the Music Institute Hall. It was a preliminary concert for a national competition, which will be held in October. I finished my first year of teacherdom. There's not much I can say on the subject, as I'm still waiting for my impressions and experience to settle and crystallize. Most definitely, there are some mixed emotions about the whole experience! In other achievements, I played a role in an indie trash movie, filmed by my cousins on the streets of my town. It was a tiny bit - local gossip girl, dissecting the lives of her neighbours and acquaintances with other gossip girls. Tonight was the premiere show and it seemed generally well-accepted among the audience. However, I did not stop at this! Currently, I'm participating in a traditional music workshop, where I am learning to play an old instrument iconic of my region, called " sopela", or "roženica". The workshop boss is pretty driven, so we walk 40 minutes every morning to the nearby miniature lake, Zarečki krov, where we sit in the shadowed part of the meadow and learn the basics. Naturally, our lessons usually end with us taking a dip before returning to town. And yet, there is more! Tomorrow, if gods will it, I'm heading to my friend to pick her up and go to the Exit festival. We've barely managed to get a flat, but fortune wanted it to be one just to ourselves - no strangers to share it with! I'm sure I'd be terribly excited if I didn't have so many other things to keep my mind occupied! We'll be staying there until Monday. Expect follow-up posts and perhaps photos somewhere next week, then! On the more personal plane, life is crazy mad. ^.^ Current Mood: creative | | Saturday, June 16th, 2007 | | 7:07 pm |

You might've noticed I locked almost all my posts. Secrecifying all the way. So, yeah. That's because my ICQ/LJ nickname has spread around highschool, since I'm friends with the sister of a student. It's just a matter of time before someone decides to google medoperdo or w/e and remain agasp at mischief! Going to the movies tonight. Mrewl. :) Current Mood: content |
